We manufacture ocean sensing solutions – sensors, instrumentation, and deployment systems – for business and government customers on all seven continents. As a hi-tech business, our technical team includes experts and engineers with experience in the acoustic, mechanical, electrical, software, and embedded software domains. We operate from locations at either end of Canada: Halifax (Dartmouth) on the Atlantic Coast, and Victoria on the Pacific Coast.

We’re looking for a Sales Professional to join our high-growth Sales Team to drive our business in Europe. The ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record of professional sales growth in a business-to-business environment, with strong preference for individuals that have experience in the oceanographic or hydrographic industry. This is a remote work position with preference for individuals located in Europe.

This role is accountable for the following:
  • Maximizes Channel Partnerships: Works with our “channel to market” partners (consisting of OEMs and distributors) to increase their ability to independently sell and close deals using AML tools and resources 
  • Business development: Proactively seeks new opportunities and maintains relationships within the market
  • Sales progression: Moves Channel and Key Account opportunities systematically through AML's sales process.
  • Improvement and Growth: Plans and manages improvement of sales performance in the region via all channels.
  • Raises the Bar: Active champion in the pursuit of higher performance standards within the company
  • Advocates for Customers: Shares the customer context with internal stakeholders.
  • Predicts the future: Forecasts sales and product mix for the region for 12 months into the future, updated monthly. 
  • Achieves Results: Achieves quarterly AND annual booked targets for the region OR recommends a mitigation plan early enough to recoup.
  • Product Mix: Tracks booked product mix relative to plan and makes recommendations to maximize available capacity and financial achievement.

Required Competencies & Strengths:
  • Industry leader: An established network of contacts within the oceanographic survey industry.  This person Is able to build new strong relationships with channel partners and end users alike.  Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to successfully balance conflicting interests; Is both a listener and inquisitive.
  • Relationship builder: Is able to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Adept interpersonal skills and ability to balance conflicting interests.
  • EQ / Emotional Intelligence: Ability to use and manage emotions in ways to communicate effectively, overcome challenges, and navigate conflict. Can assess this ability in others.
  • Considerate and Tactful : Communication is appropriate and sensitive, never rude or careless. Interactions are polite and people walk away feeling heard more often than not.
  • Growth Oriented: Out of the box thinker. Creative and a learner, always looking to find a way.
  • Technical understanding: 5 or more years experience with a variety of Hydrographic and Oceanographic equipment.  Understands CTD, Sounds Velocity and a variety of other oceanographic environmental sensors, deployment methods including underway profiling systems and their features, benefits, unique selling points, and comfortable educating on these.

This position reports directly to the VP of Sales, who is located in Victoria, BC, Canada
This position is a fully remote position.
